Step-by-step how to buy a Ken and Dan original signed print

Choose a photo you like from our gallery. (Click link to be re-directed)
Write an email to kenanddanphotography@hotmail.com specifying how many copies you would like, whether you would like them signed, and finally whether you would like them framed. A price list is included at the bottom of this page
Your email will be promptly replied to. You can pay by cash or cheque but payment must be made to CPL Productions checks written to Ken and Dan Photography cannot be cashed as it is not a company
CPL Productions will post you the goods along with an invoice. VAT on the sale of photos is 13.5%

CPL Productions only deliver to Ireland the UK and Spain (NB: we do not deliver to any Spanish speaking countries in South America). Posting will be included in your quote, all prices will be quoted in Euro, for conversions to Sterling conversion rate at time of order will be taken. We appreciate your custom.

CPL Productions

CPL Productions, founded by DoP Conor Lyons in 2006 is the company we supply our photography to. As simply a group of photographers in order to take our hobby to the next level we chose to operate though an already existing business.
In addition to our Ken and Dan Photography pictures, Conor has his own range of dynamic and vibrant photographs. Shots of Kerry, Inchydoney, sailing regattas and other themes are covered in his work.

In response to an ever more diverse and open online trading enviornment, Conor chose to bring online a Spanish website for Ken and Dan. However no plans currently exist to do likewise for his own website. He hopes to expand the business by diversifying his existing portfolio of works (including all the K&D shots he owns) and brings the photos to a more far-reaching audience. Conor beleives that withing the next year he will be delivering orders outside of Munster

Welcome to Ken-and-Dan Photography

<purveyors of quality Black and White Irish Photography since 2004>

Ken and Dan Photography is the group of Cork Photographers (led by Kenneth Gordon and Daniel O'Carroll) supplying photographs to CPL Prodcutions Ltd (www.cplproductions.wetpaint.com) . The entity is neither a company nor a partnership but aims to use this webspace to publicize its portfolio of works on behalf of CPL.

The team, led by Director of Photography Conor Lyons, and David Whyte aim to bring a varied and interesting look at modern surface of twenty first century Cork. The photography of Ken-and Dan Photography is exclusively in black and white and there are no plans to move into colour at this time.

Navigation couldn't be easier. Click on gallery to view our selection of quality photographs. Our supported photo directories are accessed via directories, instructions on how to purchase a Ken and Dan photography (note: transactions are made through the company, CPL Productions). A brief history of our photography is contained in Ken and Dan the story and a brief look at ourselves, the workhorses at The Team.

In the hope of expanding our client base and moving into new markets we have created our Spanish language website www.kenydanfotografia.wetpaint.com. As part of our general localization initiative we hope to bring out a similar French page in the near future.

Ken and Dan: The Story

Ken-and-Dan Photography was founded in 2005 following the success of a Transition Year photography module. Ken and Dan decided to meet on the weekends to take photos around Cork.
"Initially" says Daniel, "The idea wasn't to make money.....It was just something that was maybe at the back of our minds but never really something that was our primary reason to take photos"

The team grew as local photographer David Whyte joined in late 2004. Following the shuffling around of roles in the "team", a mutual decision was reached to go into business. However nobodody was too keen on forking out the cash to register a legal business in Ireland. David, as it happends knew Conor Lyons, a local Cork photographer, camera-man and all-round good-times guy. "As soon as Conor had set up CPL Productions (www.cplproductions.wetpaint.com) I saw the opportunity and grasped it by the horns!". David's thrifty entrepreneurship and Ken and Dan's photo expertise ensured a quick agreement to "join" CPL.

CPL Productions' decision to retail the Ken and Dan Portfolio brings the potential for both parties to the next level.

The "merger", per se, happened in March 2006. Under the current set up Ken-and-Dan supply photos to CPL, who then adquire the sales rights of the photographs. Conor Lyons, of CPL says "I was personally delighted and excited to be able to develop and expand the exisiting business by merging with Ken-And-Dan. Hopefully we can go on from here to provide an excellent service to the people of Cork".

The Team

DANIEL O'CARROLL (WEBSITE ADMIN)

One of the original founder of Ken and Dan Photography. Daniel does not contribute much photograhpy to the team but runs the website and handles all queries. His favourite past times, besides the photographic business, are weightlifting, and a spot of bobsleighing. He looks forward to the future of the business. "Under CPL Productions we can together explore new markets. The European Market is one which we are considering at the moment. Translations of the website into Spanish and French are underway and we are considering launching our product at upcoming tradeshows in Paris and Madrid. We feel there is a gap, and we must move to exploit it."

CONOR LYONS (DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY)
Conor, who recently set up his own business, is a RTE Weather Photo Finalist 2006 and an avid photographer. is an analog-only photographer.Conor takes a modernist view to photography. Although his first camera was a Canon SLR and he feels some sentimental attachment to analog photography he now only photographs in digital Although still in Secondary School Conor manages to dedicate most, if not all, of his spare time to taking photographs of his native Cork, of scenes (such as Inchydoney) and County Cork.

DAITHÍ DE PHOÍTE (PHOTOGRAPHER)

Daithí remembers his first birthday present - a kodak disposable - and the rest, as they say, is history. And history perhaps has more to write about Daithí; Daithí shows an exceptional interest and craftsmanship uncommon for a boy of his age. He hopes to go on to study photography at third level and pursue a career in photography. A keen gaelgóir, Daithí also dedicates his spare time to "filíocht" (poetry) as Ghaeilge. Although a true man of the arts, Daithí rarely appears in public where he finds inspiration too readily eludes him. Daithí spends three months of the year in a retreat on Inis Meáin where he finds most inspiration. Daithí's only recording to date has been his rendition of "Bímse buain ar buairt gach ló". It will be available for download shortly.
